Personnel of Schools Division Office (SDO) Candon City participated in the 4th Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)at 9 AM today, November 10.

Teachers and students of the 34 schools also joined the simulation drill, wherein they performed the duck, cover and hold technique before going to the designated evacuation areas as part of the drill’s protocol.

For this quarter’s drill, a tsunami scenario was adopted in support of the World Tsunami Awareness Day last November 5.

NSED is a quarterly activity led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRMMC) to spread public awareness on the importance of preparedness on earthquake hazards.
