With the desire to continuously implement the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE LCP) amidst COVID 19 pandemic, Schools Division of Candon City forged its partnership with the Knowledge Channel Foundation Incorporated (KCFI) by subscribing ten Portable Media Library (PML), an external hard disc drive loaded with K-10 MELCs-aligned video lessons, e-games and e-session guides.
Said PMLs were distributed as follows: One for District I, one for District II, one for the SPED Center, one for the Alternative Learning System, one for the SDO-Learning Resource Section and one for each secondary school: Candon City High School, Candon National High School, Candon City Information Technology National High School, Dr, Ricardo Gacula Memorial National High School, and Sto. Tomas National High School.
As part of the agreement made by the SDO Candon City and KCFI, a half-day online orientation-training was conducted by the KCFI Technical Training Team last March 18, 2021, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. wherein the recipients were given the opportunity to learn more about the Knowledge Channel’s resources and technology; how the KC PML be used for effective teaching and learning in the new normal; and how to integrate the videos in their lessons.
SDO Candon City hopes that with the proper utilization and implementation of the KC PML, teachers and learners will be better engaged in the teaching and learning process, not only this time of pandemic but even beyond it.
KC PML will serve as supplementary materials to the printed Self Learning Modules (SLMs) and TVBI as flexible learning options of this division.
