
In recognition of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) in helping schools in leadership and value formation of learners, Schools Division Office (SDO) Candon City has conducted different activities in support of the 2022 National Scouting Month celebration.
Five elementary schools, namely, Allangigan Elementary School (AES), Amguid Elementary School (AES), Cubcubbout Elementary School (CuES), Calongbuyan Elementary School (CES) and Paypayad Elementary School (PES) have conducted school-initiated joint encampment combining Kid/Kawan/Boys and Stars/Twinkler/Girl Scouts activities last November 4-5.
The highlights of the combined encampment initiative are investiture activity, completion of scouting modules, boodle fight, scout parade around the barangay, tree planting, scout skills training, campfire, and coronation.
Anselmo R. Aludino, Schools Division Superintendent, visited the campsites over the weekend together with Schools Governance Operations Division (SGOD) personnel led by John Marvin Gacutan, SGOD Chief.
SDS Aludino lauded the school heads as well as the BSP and GSP coordinators of the five schools for their scouting initiatives.
To prepare schools for the scouting activities in the new normal, SDO Candon City has also conducted Division Learning and Advocating Camporal (DLAC) last October 21-22 at Candon City High School camping grounds.
The DLAC was attended by the School BSP Coordinators and Kawan coordinators wherein they were updated with the registration process, advancement process of scouts and scouters, and standard procedure in school-based camporal.
On the other hand, GSP School Coordinators and Troop Leaders participated in the Fun Walk for National Teachers Month last October 15 which started from Sabuanan Elementary School, Santa Lucia and concluded at Santa Lucia Municipal Auditorium. The activity was hosted by Santa Lucia Municipal Mayor Hon. Joseph Valdez.
The activity was a way for the GSP to express their appreciation to the heroic contributions of Filipino teachers in nation building.
