YFD’s Candon RACE raises funds for ‘Xmas outreach program

The Candon Run for a Cause and Enjoy (RACE), organized by Candon City School Division Office (SDO) through the Youth Formation Division (YFD), drew over 1,200 registered runners at dawn November 25.

Aside from promoting health advocacy, the activity aimed to raise funds for the YFD’s annual outreach program, “Regalo Mo, Kasiyahan Ko sa Pasko,” which aims to assist marginalized learners in the division.

The 3-kilometer fun run and walk began at 4:30 a.m. at Candon City High School in Barangay Darapidap, Candon City, and finished at the same location.

City Councilor Attorney Vincent M. Tudayan attended the event and expressed his support for all DepEd initiatives, particularly SDO Candon City.

2nd Joana Alexa Pam-ot

5th Rosejeam Madeja

The top three finishers received cash prizes while the finishers received certificates.

The Candon RACE participants include the SDO personnel, teaching and non-teaching personnel, learners from the 34 schools, local government officials, members of the other government agencies like Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), parents, alumni, School Governance Council officers, and other stakeholders.
